What does "refurbished" mean?
Refurbished devices are pre-owned items that have been professionally inspected, tested, repaired (if necessary), cleaned, and restored to full working condition.
Why buy refurbished tech?
When you buy refurbished tech, you realize significant cost savings (25-70% off new prices), reduce e-waste, and often receive devices that are like-new in functionality.
What is the difference between manufacturer refurbished and seller refurbished?
Manufacturer refurbished devices are typically processed and certified by the original manufacturer, often coming with a new battery and shell.2 Seller refurbished devices are handled by the e-commerce store or a third-party refurbisher. Schupan Tech is a seller-refurbished store with
quality controls and a robust return policy.
Are refurbished devices reliable?
Our rigorous testing and quality assurance processes each device undergoes are thorough, and we test with R2v3 compliance for key functions.
What condition are the devices in? Do they have cosmetic imperfections?
These devices have undergone typical wear and tear with varying levels of usage. Any cosmetic imperfections will be documented
Do refurbished devices come with all accessories?
All complete devices come with power and video cables necessary for intended use. Laptops without batteries do not come with adapters.
Is the software up-to-date?
All previous user data has been wiped, and Windows Operating Systems are available for purchase for desktop/laptop devices.
How do you ensure data is wiped from previous owners?
As part of our ITAD services, we wipe data in accordance with NIST 800-88 and protect confidential student records in accordance with US Government guidelines & FERPA (Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act).
What is the typical lifespan of a refurbished device?
Most devices will last at least 3-5 years depending on usage and are tested for key functions before being sold.
Warranty & Returns FAQs
What is your warranty policy?
All devices are eligible to return within 30 days unless subject to damage from owner. Returns are accepted within 30 days, unless damage is attributed to the owner.
What does the warranty NOT cover?
Accidental damage (drops, spills), cosmetic damage, unauthorized repairs, or issues arising from misuse.
Can I purchase an extended warranty?
A 6-month extended warranty is available for purchase for $50.
What is your return policy?
We accept devices returned within 30 days of purchase. Devices must be returned in the same physical condition they were sold.
How do I initiate a warranty claim or return?
You can either contact us or drop by our tech store for help!
Shipping & Payment FAQs
What are your shipping options and costs?
We are able to ship via Fedex and USPS currently, further shipping options are detailed in checkout
Do you offer free shipping?
We do not offer free shipping currently.
Do you ship internationally?
At this time we only ship within the US.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major card providers and Paypal are accepted

Laptops
- What are the battery health expectations for refurbished laptops? At least 80% of original capacity
- Are the chargers included? Unless laptop does not come with battery
- What operating system will be installed? Operating system available for purchase
Monitors
- Will there be any dead pixels? No defects/dead pixels.
- Are all necessary cables (HDMI, DisplayPort, power) included? All necessary power & video cables will be provided.
SSDs
- What is the health/wear level of the SSD?
- Is it pre-formatted?
Desktops
- Are all necessary peripherals (keyboard, mouse, monitor) included or sold separately? Sold separately.
- What are the expansion options (RAM, storage)? Additional expansion options can be purchased separately.
